INAITEC, the innovation ecosystem located in the Cidade Pedra Branca neighborhood in Palhoça, celebrates in September its 14 years of contribution to the development of Greater Florianópolis. Since its founding, the hub has served more than 500 companies, establishing itself as a key player in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
An ecosystem that transforms entrepreneurship
Founded in 2010 as a pilot project by the Palhoça City Hall, Pedra Branca Empreendimentos S.A., UniSul, and ACIP, INAITEC was born with the goal of attracting creative economy companies and creating an environment that integrates private initiative, the public sector, education, and associativism. Over the years, the business hub has become a reference in innovation, offering support and infrastructure so that new ideas can flourish and positively impact the region's socioeconomic development.
Impact on business and talent development
From its very first steps, INAITEC was aligned with the smart city concept that Pedra Branca City represents: a space that combines housing, work, and study in a sustainable environment. The hub contributed to creating a city of the future, offering technological infrastructure in areas such as security, the environment, and health.
In addition, INAITEC launched several programs over the years, such as PEIEX, focused on export qualification, and Acelera Pedra Branca, which aims to support and accelerate local startups. Other programs include Emprega Palhoça, which connects job opportunities and professionals, and Inova Palhoça, focused on developing municipal innovation legislation.
Expansion and achievements
In 2013, INAITEC took an important step by moving to an expanded headquarters, still in Cidade Pedra Branca. This new structure allowed the installation of major companies such as Betha Sistemas and Welle Laser, in addition to consolidating the startup incubation program. To date, the program has graduated 15 startups in areas such as information technology, industrial machinery, and environmental monitoring.

After 14 years of operation, INAITEC continues firm in its mission to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. With a track record of success in supporting companies, the business hub looks to the future with a commitment to continue contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Greater Florianópolis.
