Inaitec Barcelona Mission: Santa Catarina startups target business generation and international expansion

From November 2 to 11, 2025, Inaitec leads yet another strategic internationalization initiative, this time to Barcelona, Spain. The business mission, backed by FAPESC, will be a unique opportunity for Santa Catarina startups to connect with the European innovation ecosystem, expand their global reach, and establish high-impact partnerships.

Why Barcelona?

With a mature and internationally recognized ecosystem, Barcelona was one of the first cities in Europe to integrate technology parks into the urban fabric. This makes the city one of the main entry points for startups wishing to access the Catalan, Spanish, and European markets. Furthermore, the city is a reference in areas such as smart cities, Industry 4.0, digital health, and sustainability.

A results-focused program

During the ten days of immersion, participants will have access to a robust and strategic program. Among the highlights:

  • Business rounds with local hubs, companies, and institutions
  • Technical visits to DFactory, an Industry 4.0 hub, and to the 22@Barcelona innovation district
  • Participation in the SmartCity Expo World Congress, one of the world's largest events on smart cities, where startups will be able to map trends, prospect partnerships, and access an international business environment.

International connections to strengthen the local ecosystem

For Inaitec, the mission represents not only an expansion opportunity for companies, but a structured movement to strengthen Greater Florianópolis's innovation ecosystem. "Internationalization is an essential strategy for making our companies more competitive and broadening the visibility of what is developed in Santa Catarina," says the Institute's team.

The expectation is to return with closed deals, partnerships with innovation centers, and above all, to create a permanent channel of exchange between Barcelona and the Pedra Branca Technology Park, where Inaitec is headquartered.

Investment attraction and international visibility

With a strong presence of investment funds and open innovation programs, Barcelona presents itself as an ideal environment for startups seeking international expansion. The mission also reinforces the institutional positioning of Inaitec and Santa Catarina as innovation reference hubs in Brazil.

"The mission is a strategic platform for generating business and consolidating long-term relationships with the main actors of the European ecosystem. We are focused on opening real softlanding pathways and commercial opportunities for the solutions born in our park," concludes Diego Chierighini, Executive Director.

Registrations remain open until August 8, 2025.
