The internationalization process is one of the biggest challenges for Brazilian micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. To support this movement, the PEIEX Program executed by Sebrae in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) has been consolidating itself as one of the leading training initiatives for businesses seeking to access international markets.
Over the next 16 months, Sebrae Santa Catarina, in partnership with Inaitec and other companies in the state, will be responsible for conducting the program in the state, offering practical and strategic support so that companies are prepared to compete on a global scale. More than a training project, PEIEX presents itself as a gateway for those who want to transform innovation into global businesses.
What is PEIEX?
The PEIEX (Export Qualification Program) is a national initiative by ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), executed in partnership with regional institutions such as Sebrae, universities, and technology parks.
The program was created to prepare micro and small businesses for the international market, offering practical and personalized training in strategic areas such as management, export planning, finance, marketing, and market intelligence.
With its own methodology, PEIEX has already trained thousands of businesses across Brazil, helping them access new markets and increase their competitiveness.
The role of Sebrae and Inaitec
Over the next 16 months, Sebrae Santa Catarina will be responsible for conducting PEIEX in partnership with Inaitec. The institute, as an innovation and technology hub located in Cidade Pedra Branca (Palhoça), will support the local execution of the program (in Greater Florianópolis), connecting ecosystem companies to the internationalization process.
In addition to training, the goal is to identify success cases, such as those from SouOdonto and a startup in development, which will serve as inspiration for other organizations interested in expanding their borders.
What do companies receive by participating?
During the program, participating companies will have access to:
- Export readiness diagnosis;
- Implementation of a work plan with foreign trade topics (logistics, pricing, international negotiation, and more);
- Personalized export/expansion plan/value map;
- Support from technicians specialized in foreign trade.
- Qualified networking through connection with other entrepreneurs, partners, and export support institutions.
Expected impact
With implementation planned for the next 16 months, the PEIEX Sebrae in partnership with Inaitec should support dozens of Santa Catarina companies, preparing them to compete in international markets and strengthening Greater Florianópolis's role as a global innovation and entrepreneurship hub.
The expected result is to increase local competitiveness, generate qualified jobs, and consolidate internationalization cases that serve as an example for other regions of Brazil.
