In March 2025, the Inaitec Business Ecosystem reached an important milestone in the area of environmental sustainability. Through a strategic partnership with Blue World, 19,000 liters of water were saved and the generation of 15,000 liters of sewage was prevented in this period alone.
These significant results are part of an initiative started in 2024 and prove that technological innovation applied to sustainability can generate real and measurable impacts in the short term.
The partnership was consolidated through the installation of VLVs – flow control valves developed with proprietary technology by Blue World, whose main objective is to eliminate water waste.
Since August 2024, 28 of these valves have been installed in the Pedra Branca Technology Park's structures. The result was a direct saving of R$ 1,219.62 in just three months of operation, in addition to indirect gains related to intelligent resource management.
Beyond the financial figures, the project raises important reflections about Inaitec's role as an agent of sustainable transformation. The Institute drives entrepreneurship and technology in Santa Catarina, and integrates environmental practices into the daily lives of companies, startups, and researchers who are part of the ecosystem.

Lower electricity consumption, less wear on hydraulic pumps, reduced maintenance costs, and support for combating waste are just some of the positive externalities observed with the adoption of the technology.
Furthermore, this process contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by minimizing the use of energy-intensive equipment and avoiding overload in sewage treatment.
The logic is simple: the less water is used and wasted, the less effort is needed to treat it, pump it, and return it to the environment. And this makes all the difference when thinking about public policies for resilient cities.
